2009 starts The Boxing Clinic Grading System

The Boxing Clinic has introduced a Boxing Grading system. All other Martial Arts around the world have grading system’s all except Boxing. The staff at the Clinic have come together and formed a Grading System from White Shield to Black Shield leading to a Clinic Instructor status. (more…)

Hit Squad Day 9

Well thats it I’m done ! Time to pack the bags and head home after a very interesting 2 weeks training here with the Hit Squad.

I was asked the day before I was leaving would I come back and would I recommend the Hit Squad as a training facility for people to come learn and get fit ?

 As mentioned on the previous blog  the fighters in this Team have the best attitude towards training I have seen in any gym/team I have worked with to date ( and I have worked with alot of teams and in alot of gyms) . There is no attitude amongst these lads they are  all here to do their job and have fun at the same time. (more…)

Hit Squad Day 5

Well Thursday & Fri were abit of a write off as we all left the gym  at lunch time to travel 3 hours to the Quad Cities to watch a Hit Squad Fighter in action Dee Jay Fuentes current record 4,0. So a few of us trained Thursday morning before we hit the rd for the journey ahead I new we wouldnt be training Friday morning so I wanted to get a couple hours in make up for it !

                                        DEC 4TH – A NIGHT WHEN UNDERDOGS BECAME TOP DOGS.


The MGM Grande it wasn’t, but The Vauxhall Colloseum, witnessed another dazzling display of boxing, from the Clinic’s finest.

 Six fights, three of them for belts were the ticket for the night.  The first three were between the runners up from the fights on October 23rd and they didn’t disappoint as each fighter felt they had something to prove and prove it they did, as the standard of the boxing was excellent.    As for the bouts for the belts, they were busy, brilliant and bruising from the sound of the bell. There is absolutely nothing here to do only train ! If you’ve not got a car you are completely shut off from the outside world. Its fantastic, you get up in the morning go to class come back eat , sleep if your tired and if you’re just bored guess what you can go and train!

Monday morning warming up in the gym  , think I was the 1st one there didnt help that I was awake  @ 5am due to the time difference . Slowly the fighter ‘s start coming through the doors. Matt Hughes was taking the MMA conditioning plyometric session ( 90 mins ) There were about 14 of us in the session just 1 girl the rest lads. (more…)

 Graham spends 2 weeks training with Matt Hughes Hit Squad Team in Granite City Illinois. Most people go skiing or hit the sun this time of year for their end of year break, me yes there’s a screw lose in my head somewhere as I’chosen to spend my break training with the best in the world at what they do !
